The perfect day tour visiting one of Victoria’s oldest family run wineries with their own airstrip right on the property making this a food and wine experience to remember.
Choose your own leisurely tasting where informative and friendly staff guide you through the Brown Brothers family of wines. The Milawa Cellar Door is the nerve centre of new ideas and experimentation within Brown Brothers and is the perfect environment for tasting new varieties and wine styles. Brown Brothers grow many varieties of grapes and have an experimental research winery, the Kindergarten, where they produce wines of high quality, but in quantities too small to make available for general release. These are released under the Cellar Door label and are available nowhere else. The range includes limited releases of new varietals, experimental batches and aged wines.
Adjacent to the Cellar Door at Milawa, Patricia’s Table is a restaurant where you can a 3 course meal with matched wines dishes created with local produce to complement Brown Brothers wines. The restaurant has been awarded one star in the Australian Gourmet Traveller 2013 Restaurant Awards and rated 14.5 out of 20 by The Age Good Food Guide 2013 (see reviews below). Head chef Douglas Elder is passionate about using fresh, local produce. The menu is changed regularly to reflect availability of freshness of produce and to allow for new wine releases to be showcased.
